Moving to Online Services (Covid-19)
There is still much to offer from an online postnatal consultation, since a huge amount can be gained by receiving the right advice, at the right time. If you choose to book an online consultation you will be asked to complete a thorough screening to enable me to identify the mechanism of your injury, what structures may have been involved, the aggravating and easing factors for your pain, and to rule out any medical conditions that may be masquerading as musculoskeletal pain.
You will have a live online video consultation in which you will be taught how to perform exercises to address your condition - both for immediate pain relief, as well as for long-term recovery. This may also involve some simple self-management techniques or involve signposting you to useful resources that will further your understanding of your injury or condition and how best to manage it. If necessary you will also be directed to other services if there are any areas of concern.
This version of healthcare is a service which has widely been used for many years by the big health insurance companies and the NHS so has been tried and tested and shown to have positive statistics in the management of musculoskeletal conditions. While I recognise and value the huge importance of manual therapy and hands-on treatment and exercise correction I am also confident that during a time when this is not possible there is likely to be a great need for Telehealth & online consultations.
Online consultations will be available for Physiotherapy, Women's Health & Mummy MOT. Each appointment will be followed up with a written report and links to exercise and self-treatment videos.
Appointments will be available to book online via https://www.brightonpilatesstudio.com/physiotherapy
